Muhammad and the role of women- A lesson that looks at Muhammad’s wives- Khaijah and Aisha, and how Muhammad changed the role of women in Islam. Worksheet and resource sheet to support a 6 mark exam question.

Baptism: An introduction to the concept of the 7 sacraments. The lesson then looks at the difference between infant and believer baptism. Considering why someone would choose to baptise their child. Main activity encourages students to write aletter of advice to a pregnant woman considering baptism for her child. There is some further reading to encourage challenge and literacy development.

The student workbooklet was photcopied back to back and used throughout. Language used refers to “levels” so will need tweaking. The Bible: An introduction to the Bible, looking at the Old and New Testament in a video and gap filler. Students then look at the different ways the Bible can be interpretted- liberal and literal. They consider other sources of authority that may provide more guidance in the modern day (prayer, visiting church, listening to their conscience). Students then pretend to ring into This Morning to answer a phone in question regarding if the Bible is out of date.
